Pin-Recovered Cards

Re-Covered Pins | |

Lately it has come to our attention that there exist cards where the
pin has been re-covered. Naturally, anyone could do this, but these
cards have been found in Starbucks stores. There is some discussion about whether there has been a short supply of cards, and therefore the store or the manufacturer has taken to re-covering pins on cards where the pin may have been damaged. Most US pins are RWSA these days, but the re-covered pins are LRS and sometimes in two or even three pieces, and on most of the cards you can see the applique from the RWSA behind the new pin cover. Since these cards are not mass-produced we have decided not to put them on the site as a variant, but here are some pictures showing how poorly these re-coverings were done. | |
